How can my digital certificate be verified by third parties?


eDGH began offering digital certificates starting with our January 2026 courses. If you have successfully completed your course (qualifying score of 70% or higher), you can access your certificate for the course directly in Moodle.

Your digital certificate will include a link to a unique code that can be used to verify your certificate status in Moodle. You can also share this link with third parties to verify that your certificate for the course has been issued and is valid. The QR code for the verification link will be included with your certificate, and you can find it in the certificates area of your Moodle profile, as well.

Here are the two primary ways that you can access the certificate verification page. 

Method 1: Using the QR code included with your certificate. 

When issued, your certificate will include a unique QR code that takes you to a certificate verification page. Use your camera app or QR reader on your phone to go to the link.




 Click the “verify” button on this page to confirm your certificate status. Certificates issued for those who have successfully completed the course will show as “valid.”  





 Method 2: From your Moodle profile under “My Certificates”

Go to your Profile page, find the section called “Miscellaneous,” and select “My Certificates” to access your course certificate.





On this page, you’ll find a listing of any course certificates issued digitally, including a unique alphanumeric code associated with your certificate. Click on the code for the listed certificate to go to the hyperlinked verification page.



Click the “verify” button on this page to confirm your certificate status. 


Certificates issued for those who have successfully completed the course will show as “valid.”   



 Sharing the Certificate Verification Link with Third Parties 

If requested, you can share the certificate verification link from the QR code or from your profile with third parties—such as employers, educational bodies, etc.— so that they can verify your certificate status and course completion. The verification page will include your name, the course, the certificate issue date, and the certificate status.

To do this, you can do any of the following:

1. Share the certificate you downloaded, including the page with the QR code image, with your employer or the desired party. They can use the QR code to verify your certificate. This is the recommended method.

2. From the address bar of your web browser, copy/paste the direct link generated from the QR code (see method  1 above) or from your profile (see method 2 above). Share the link with the desired person or party. The verification page will autofill the unique code associated with your certificate.
